In the event you need to cancel or reschedule, I request that you do so at least 24 hours in advance of our scheduled appointment. This allows for effective and efficient schedule management as well as the opportunity to offer the time slot to another patient in need.
Things to know:
If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, or cancel/reschedule less than 24 hours of the appointment time, a $100 fee is charged. Please note insurance companies cannot be billed for missed visits.
If I, the provider, need to cancel or reschedule your appointment with less than 24 hours notice, you will not be charged the cancellation/no show fee.
If we are able to reschedule the appointment within the same work week, and you attend, you will not be charged the fee.
Reminders are sent as a courtesy, and it is the responsibility of the patient/their caregiver(s) to keep track of the dates/times of their appointments, regardless of a reminder email or text.
The fee is not meant to punish the client, but rather a reflection of professional self-worth. As passionate as I am about helping others, this is a business and how I make a living (I too have a sh*tload of bills to pay!). A late cancel or not showing up for your appointment means I cannot bill insurance, which means they do not pay me, which in turn is impactful on my livelihood.
I understand that unexpected or unavoidable situations sometimes arise. In the case of emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances, the late cancellation/no-show fee may be waived. This is determined on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out to me as soon as possible via email or text to let me know your situation and discuss next steps.
Your empathetic understanding and cooperation is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the cancellation and no show policy, please do not hesitate to reach out.
